Stage photography
I have focused on stage photography for nearly 30 years. My 14 years of music study have made me love and appreciate the stage and its usage of dramatic photography. My artistic vision is to capture the beauty and wonder of the stage, frozen in time and space through my photography. My deep love for dramatic and musical theater allows me to persevere in shooting the world’s best performances, from classical music to jazz, ballet to modern dance, folk dance to dramatic theater. I use original shooting techniques to creatively frame and freeze these artistic events. These splendid stage performances with the accompanying artists have become the treasures from the past, immortalized through the lens.
I have taken the task to shoot many of the same dramas multiple times. Each time I shoot I envision something new. Before filming music, dance and dramatic performers, I communicate with them and walk into their artistic world as much as possible. This produces intimate and striking photography.
The pursuit of the highest expressiveness of stage photography requires the photographer's true emotions, and on the basis of a deep understanding and perception of the emotions of the work, incorporating his own personality characteristics and innovative ideas, in order to leave precious and wonderful moments for stage performance artists.
